Moldova's pro-Russian opposition is raising its head: Putin's fans gathered for elections as a united bloc

Pro-Russian parties in Moldova have created a pre-election bloc "Victory" on the eve of the presidential elections and the referendum on EU accession.

It is reported by NewsMaker.

"Parties affiliated with the runaway oligarch Ilan Shor have created the Victory electoral bloc. The bloc is headed by Ilan Shor, and the Bashkan of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutsul, became the executive Secretary of the political council of the bloc," the publication reports.

The pro-Russian bloc proposes a "new path" for Moldova, stating that the idea of the EU is "disastrous for citizens and the country." The alternative to the EU is Russia, the EAEU and the CIS.

Minister for Infrastructure, Andrei Spinu was the first Moldovan official to react to the creation of the bloc.

"The whole country saw the traitors of the nation in Moscow. I think we can clearly say that an organized criminal bloc called "Victory" was created in Moscow. They set it up next to the Kremlin to make it clear who they work for and whom they serve. However, not all of them are on stage. Some are still hiding in Chisinau behind different parties. We have to get rid of them in the coming years," he said.

The presidential election and the referendum on joining the European Union are scheduled for October 20.

To recap, in March, the Bashkan of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutsul, met with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the World Youth Festival in Sochi. After the meeting, she said that Putin promised to "support Gagauzia and the Gagauz people in defending their legitimate rights, powers and positions in the international arena."

Earlier, Apostrophe reported that Transnistria asked the RF for protection from Moldova.
