The Czech Republic has found 800,000 shells for Ukraine - allied countries have joined in paying for the batch of shells. President Petr Pavel announced the timeframe for the delivery of the ammunition to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This was reported by Bild.
Regarding the possible timing, he said the following:
"If there are no fundamental problems, the ammunition can arrive in Ukraine within a few weeks."
Pavel notes that the only problem was funding. However, a number of countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Canada, have previously shown that they can collectively raise the necessary amount.
The publication states that with these decisions, the Czech President "made possible what the EU recently failed miserably to do: it has so far only delivered a small part of the one million artillery shells promised for March."
The report does not specify which countries the ammunition comes from. However, the publication notes that these should be countries that have been neutral to the war or have not openly opposed Russia. In particular, Turkey, South Korea, and South Africa are mentioned.
Earlier, Macron supported the Czech plan to supply Ukraine with ammunition.
