Biden signed the defense budget for $886 billion: the amount Ukraine will receive

On December 22, U.S. President Joe Biden signed the bill on annual defense spending, providing a record amount for the Pentagon.

This was reported by the Press Service of the White House.

Congress passed this bill back on December 14. Among other things, it authorizes the allocation of aid for Ukraine in the amount of $ 800 million. Also provides 11.5 billion dollars push-back against China in the Indo-Pacific region.

"Biden signed bill H.R. 2670, the “National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024” (the “Act”). The law authorizes fiscal year appropriations primarily for the national security programs of the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of State, and Intelligence Community," said the statement.

It is known that of the mentioned $ 800 million for Ukraine, $ 300 million is provided for assistance in 2024 and so much in 2025. It is worth noting that these are separate funds from $ 61 billion, which have not yet approved in Congress.

Earlier we wrote that US Senate won't vote on a package to provide additional aid to Ukraine and strengthen US border security until early next year.
