The U.S. names the main condition for Ukraine's accession to NATO

One of the conditions for Ukraine's accession to NATO is its victory in the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the United States is making every effort to make sure that Ukrainians can do it.

The NSC Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby said this during a White House briefing on the X network, Apostrophe reports.

Regarding Ukraine's accession to NATO, Kirby said: "It's absolutely clear that first they got to win the war."

He also added that even after the war in Ukraine ends, the long border with Russia will not go away, as well as the constant threat to the security of the Ukrainian people.

At the same time, according to the speaker, Joe Biden "believes that NATO is the future of Ukraine."

"And, there are certainly other things that need to be done for any nation who wants to join the Alliance," he emphasized.

In addition, the White House NSC Coordinator for Strategic Communications noted that the bilateral security agreement will help Ukraine protect itself while they work to secure "everything they need."

"Before they can apply for NATO membership. We believe that NATO is Ukraine's future, and we're going to work with them every step of the way to get there," he concluded.

As a reminder, Ukraine applied for NATO membership on the seventh month of the full-scale Russian invasion. The application stated that Kyiv was seeking an accelerated procedure for joining the Alliance without using the so-called NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP).
