Important details of the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia

Peace talks resumed on Thursday between Russia and Ukraine as both sides left the several hours of negotiations without a cease-fire agreement and war continued to rage.

Advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksii Arestovich said that the Ukrainian and Russian delegation gained a mutual understanding about humanitarian assistance to the surrounded Ukrainian cities.

This is reported by the Telegram channel Country Policy.

"There is an understanding on humanitarian aid or "humanitarian corridors" to surrounded cities. In Ukraine, these are cities that suffer from the Russian invasion. This is very good, because the safety of civilians is the number 1 topic for the world..." Arestovich informed.

He warned that it is necessary to understand who Ukraine is dealing with, so humanitarian convoys will need to be secured.

"Therefore, this information will be provided online when it already occurs. And before that, let's still hold it, except for the general message that it should take place,"Arestovich said.

It's worth noting that on Thursday, March 3, in the Brest region of Belarus, the Ukrainian and Russian sidesheld the second roundofnegotiationson the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.

"The second round of negotiations is over. Unfortunately, the results Ukraine needs are not yet achieved," Ukraine's presidential adviser, Mykhailo Podolyak, tweeted following the meeting.

Russia’s foreign minister said that Russia will continue to insist that any peace agreement with Ukraine must include a promise that Ukraine will "demilitarize." Russia has also signaled it wants to discuss Ukraine adopting a "neutral status" and agree to abandon its ambitions of joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
