Ukraine will receive record aid package: details of British PM's visit to Kyiv

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during his visit to Kyiv plans to announce a new package of military aid and sign a "historic agreement" on security cooperation with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This is reported by the press service of the British Government.

It is noted that this agreement should be the realization of Kyiv's agreements with the G7 countries on bilateral security guarantees for Ukraine.

"The UK is the first country to conclude a final agreement with Ukraine. The symbolic agreement should be the first step in the development of partnership between the countries", - stated in the message.

It is specified that the cooperation agreement formalizes the range of support that London provides to Ukraine, including intelligence data sharing, cybersecurity, medical and military training and cooperation in the defense industry.

"The Prime Minister also confirmed that the United Kingdom will provide £2.5 billion of military aid to Ukraine in 2024-2025, an increase of £200 million on the previous two years. The funding will help leverage the UK's best military expertise and defense products to ensure Ukraine's victory on the battlefield, including critical areas such as long-range missiles, air defense, artillery munitions and maritime security," the report said.

It is also noted that at least 200 million will be spent on the rapid procurement and production of thousands of drones for Ukraine, including reconnaissance, attack and maritime drones. London announces that this will be the "largest delivery of drones" to Ukraine from a partner country.

Earlier "Apostrophe" reported that Norway will transfer to Ukraine additional NASAMS air defense systems and other equipment worth $1.8 billion by the end of 2024.
