The West has found a way to transfer to Ukraine the profits from Russian assets that were frozen on the territory of the EU after the full-scale Russian invasion. Most likely, they will be included in the general package of EU aid to our country in the amount of €50 billion.
This is stated in the material "Apostrophe".
So, on February 12, the Council of the European Union approved the legal basis for the use of income received from frozen in the EU Russian assets to help Ukraine. However, due to a certain bureaucratic procedure, the possibility of transferring these funds to our country will not be realized before the end of March.
However, there is a way to transfer these funds to Ukraine faster - our country will receive them in the total aid package of €50 billion. That is, for the Europeans it will become an additional source of replenishment of our country's support fund.
"In that aid package of €50 billion, which was approved for us, €17 billion is the profit from Russian assets. That is, Russian profits will be withdrawn and transferred to this fund. It's about the fact that we won't get anything (from the EU) over these 50 billion euros in the next four years," an expert of the "Think Tank United Ukraine", Oleksiy Kushch, said in a comment to "Apostrophe".
