Ukraine's Parliament calls on the world to condemn Putin's "elections" in the occupied territories

Ukraine's Parliament has appealed to the governments and parliaments of the world, international organizations and parliamentary assemblies over Russia's plans to hold "presidential elections" in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Parliament.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 11078 " Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the governments and parliaments of foreign states, international organizations, and parliamentary assemblies in connection with the Russian Federation's "presidential elections" in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine." 282 MPs voted in favor.

"The purpose of the Resolution is to approve the Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to international partners calling to condemn the illegal "presidential elections" held by the aggressor state in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, to counteract the attempts of the Russian Federation to involve international observers to legitimize these "elections", to strengthen all types of sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, to consolidate the efforts of all partners of Ukraine to increase assistance to the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, and to take an active part in the implementation of the Peace Formula of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (Ukrainian Peace Formula)," the statement said.
