‘It was not an easy decision’: Scholz announced new aid package for Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced another package of military aid to Ukraine worth more than €7 billion and promised to support our country as long as needed.

This was reported by Tagesschau.

According to him, the support will be provided through 2024, which will be the largest contribution in Europe.

"We are united in our support for Ukraine in its defence struggle against the Russian attack. We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as needed," Scholz said in Stockholm after meeting with the Prime Ministers of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway.

In addition, the German Chancellor announced the transfer of the third Patriot system to Kyiv.

"It was not an easy decision, because we do not have so many of them," he said.

Scholz reminded that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Germany has provided or promised to provide Ukraine with €28 billion in military aid.
