The United States is expected to announce additional military aid to Ukraine in the amount of $275 million on Friday, May 24.
This was reported by the Associated Press.
The reason for the new package was the desire of officials to help Ukraine repel the offensive of the occupiers in the Kharkiv Region.
Two US officials said that the package includes the HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket systems, as well as 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, which are in high demand in Ukraine.
They disclosed the details of the aid package on condition of anonymity before publication.
The news came after a monthly meeting at the Ramstein military base, where military aid to Ukraine is coordinated.
During the last meeting, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that Ukraine is in a "moment of challenge" because of Russia's new offensive on Kharkiv. He promised to continue providing weapons "week after week."
