US, Israel discuss supply of up to 8 Patriot systems to Ukraine - FT

The US and Israel are discussing the possible reinforcement of Ukraine's air defense system with Israeli Patriot batteries.

This was reported by The Financial Times (FT), citing its own sources.

"The US is in talks to send Israel's Patriot systems to Ukraine," the newspaper reports, noting that it is possible to send up to eight air defense systems.

Israel is supposed to send the systems to the United States first. After that, they will be transferred to Ukraine.

The decision has not yet been made, but this step could mark a change in Israel's approach to the war in Ukraine.

Thus, Israel has officially assured that it will not provide military assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, the Israeli PM last year suggested the possibility of transferring the Iron Dome air defense system.

In particular, in April, it was reported that Israel plans to decommission eight Patriot batteries that have exceeded 30 years of service. Instead, they plan to install more advanced ones.

Earlier, we reported that the Ukrainian military would receive another Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.
