Farmers will also join Polish hauliers who are starting a new blockade of "Yahodyn-Dorohusk" checkpoint on the Ukrainian border today.
This was announced by the leader of the protesting carriers Rafal Mekler in X(Twitter).
As Rafal Mekler notes, farmers from "United Village" organization will join the blockade of the border at 13:30 local time.
It is reported that the reason why farmers will join the border blockade is the tragic situation on the Polish market, caused by uncontrolled flow of grain from Ukraine, the lack of prospects for improving the situation in the harvest of 2023, as well as the lack of implementation of systemic measures to protect the internal market.
The main demands of the farmers include stopping sugar imports from Ukraine, immediate payment of direct subsidies, providing the same level of fuel tax rate, as well as compensation to corn producers.
