Russians are attacking near Avdiivka: latest battle maps

Ukrainian troops continue to hold the front line, inflicting losses on the enemy. However, in the Avdiivka sector, Russian troops are experiencing partial success in advancing the front line. The occupants have recently advanced there to the northwest and southwest.

The latest battle maps were published by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in a new report.

They show how on the night of March 12-13, Ukrainian forces launched large-scale drone strikes against energy infrastructure and military assets in Russia.

ISW experts also note that the shortage of ammunition and other military equipment caused by the delay in U.S. military aid could make the current Ukrainian front line more fragile.

ISW paid special attention to the Avdiivka area. They note that the rate of Russian advance west of Avdiivka has recently slowed, "although Russian forces are likely to retain the ability to intensify offensive operations in this area at any time."

The report indicates that Ukrainian forces slowed the Russian advance along positions near the Berdychi-Orlivka-Tonenke line in early March. However, according to the report's new data, Russian forces have recently advanced northwest and southwest of Avdiivka. In particular, on March 12, Russian milbloggers pointed out that the occupants had expanded their control over Tonenke and captured new positions in the forests between Orlivka and Tonenke.
