"We have no other option": military expert on new strikes on Russian airfields and refineries

Due to the lack of air defense systems, Ukraine has no other option but to destroy Russian planes at airfields and oil refineries.

This was stated by Ivan Stupak, a military expert and former officer of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), on the air of Apostrophe TV.

"Last night's strikes on Russian airfields showed that, given the lack of air defense systems, we simply have no other option but to destroy Russian bombers at their bases. We see how Kharkiv is simply being destroyed with the help of air bombs. Here, the absolutely logical and expected solution is to hit the airfields," Stupak said.

According to him, the Defense Forces continue to destroy the military potential of the Russians, including using information that is relatively easy to obtain.

"The strikes on Russian refineries were based on the same algorithm that the Russians used against us when they attacked our energy system in 2022-2023. There, the question was not about any deep intelligence data that the Russians sought to obtain, but they simply called in energy experts, who got old Soviet maps and actually acted as gunners, showing exactly where there are weak points in our energy system, on which strikes can inflict maximum damage. Similarly, the Ukrainian Defense Forces engaged oil refining experts, who told them that they should not hit individual tanks, which can be repaired or replaced relatively quickly, but rather hit critical production facilities. They outlined several points for striking, which resulted in damage to production facilities, most of which use Western components under sanctions that cannot be bought in Chinese stores. With these strikes on the refinery, we have shown that there are games that can be played together," Stupak said.

Earlier "Apostrophe" reported that SBU UAVs destroyed at least 6 and damaged 8 military aircraft at the airfield in Morozovsk, RF.
