Ukraine's first production facility of Ukroboronprom and the German defense concern Rheinmetall has started its work. The production workshop will be responsible for repairing military equipment and facilitating its rapid return to the front, and in the future - for the production of new models.
The Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
He noted that a workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles has already started operating in Ukraine:
"The first one has started. A joint production venture of Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall, - a workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles - has started operating in Ukraine."
Kamyshin emphasized that this production facility is the first project implemented within the partnership between Ukroboronprom and the German defense giant Rheinmetall.
Among the main advantages, the Minister names the speed of providing repair services to damaged equipment and the speed of its further use on the front line, and in the future - the establishment of production:
"Right now, this will allow us to repair foreign equipment faster and, accordingly, return it to the front line more quickly. In the future, new models of armored vehicles will be produced here."
Kamyshin also focuses on the economic aspect of such support: "The important thing is that this is support not only for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also for our economy. Ukrainian specialists work in the workshop, under the technical supervision of colleagues from Germany. Taxes are paid in Ukraine. And we get new technologies."
