Ukrainian Armed Forces sunk a Russian ship in the Sea of Azov

Ukraine seriously aimed to destroy Russian ships. On June 9, another VDK was hit. It became the fifth of seven large Russian landing ships that the Defense Forces managed to destroy or damage.

This was reported by Sky News.

It is noted that on Saturday evening, June 8, the Defense Forces struck a Russian landing ship, which had only recently been redirected from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov.

The coordinated strike hit the vessel, which became the fifth of the seven Project 775 landing ships of the Russian fleet to be sunk or disabled.

"This successful strike shows the Russians that they cannot operate freely in the Black Sea or in the east,'' Sky News reports, citing a Ukrainian source.

The source notes that Russia is using these boats to transport ammunition and materials to the temporarily occupied Mariupol and then deliver them to the front. Such strikes effectively support Ukrainian troops by disrupting the enemy's logistics:

"By disrupting Russian supplies of ammunition and key military materials, this strike will directly support Ukrainian troops in their fight."

Earlier, we reported that a Ukrainian aircraft hit a target in Russia for the first time.
