Zelensky will meet with Biden: the White House has announced the dates

Despite the fact that the US President will not attend the Peace Summit in Switzerland, Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky will soon have two significant meetings: in France and during the G7 in Italy.

It is reported by AFP.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would meet this week in Normandy, France. This will be followed by another meeting - the G7 in Italy.

It is noted that Biden's "double show of support" comes after criticism of his absence from the Ukrainian Peace Summit. "The double show of support comes after Biden faced criticism for saying he would skip an upcoming Ukrainian peace summit in Switzerland," AFP reports.

Jake Sullivan emphasized that while in Normandy this week, the US president "have the opportunity to sit down with President Zelensky."

"He'll have an engagement with him to talk about the state of play in Ukraine and how we can continue and deepen our support for Ukraine," Sullivan commented.

The US president is also planning to meet with Zelensky during the G7 in Bari, Italy, on June 13-15. The meeting, according to the White House Adviser, will focus in particular on the issue of frozen Russian funds to support Ukraine's military efforts.

Therefore, in the course of a little more than a week, "...the president (of the United States - Apostrophe) two substantive engagements with President Zelensky."

Earlier, China has confirmed that it will not attend a Ukraine Peace Summit in Switzerland.
